Payment dates for social welfare over Christmas 2025

If you get a weekly social welfare payment, you will get your payment as usual during the week starting Monday, 15 December 2025.

If your payment is due on 22, 23, 24, 25 or 26 December, you’ll also get this during the week starting 15 December.

If your payment is due on 1 January 2026, you’ll get this on 31 December 2025 instead.

This applies whether you’re paid at your post office, by cheque or directly into your financial institution account.

So, on the week starting 15 December 2025, you’ll get:

• Your usual payment, and
• An advance payment for the following week
