Voting and have a visual impairment?
23 October 2025
Did you know?
Do you have a visual impairment and plan to vote in the presidential election on 24 October 2025?
There are arrangements in place to allow you to exercise your right to vote if you have disabilities, illnesses, visual impairments, or reading and writing disabilities.
You can bring along a family member or friend to help you fill out your ballot. You can also ask for help from the Presiding Officer when you get to the polling station.
You can use a Ballot Paper Template (BPT) to mark your ballot paper without assistance. You’ll just need to let the Presiding Officer know when you get to the polling station that you’d like one.
📞 There’s a freephone number you can use while voting that lists the candidates in the order they appear on the ballot. The BPT freephone number for the presidential election 2025 is 1800 848 850.
