Minimum wage increase for building and security workers

Are you a builder or security guard? Good news, you may have a pay increase if you work in the construction or security industry.

New minimum wage rates have been set for workers in the security and construction industries.

Since 22 July 2025, the minimum wage for workers in the security industry who are 18 and over has increased to €15.41 per hour .

Since 1 August 2025, the minimum rates of pay for construction workers have increased by 3.4%. If you are a construction worker, you will get improved pension contributions and sick pay benefits due to the Sectoral Employment Order (Construction Sector) 2024.
