Changes to Rent Pressure Zones

Since 20 June 2025, all areas in Ireland are a Rent Pressure Zone (RPZ). This means that RPZ rules apply for rent increases and rent reviews.  

Rent Pressure Zones are also extended nationwide until 28 February 2026 (were due to expire on 31 December 2025).

In a Rent Pressure Zone:

• Your rent can only be increased once every 12 months
• Your rent cannot be increased by more than 2% per year. Depending on the date of the rent review, the increase can be lower if the rate of inflation is below 2%.
