Christmas travel abroad with an expired IRP card

If you are a non-EEA national in Ireland you can travel abroad and return to Ireland from 8 December 2025 to 31 January 2026 using:
- Your current recently expired Irish Residence Permit (IRP) card,
- Proof of your IRP renewal application and
- A Travel Confirmation Notice
You can only do this if your application to renew your immigration permission was submitted before the expiry date on your IRP Card.
